IP Address and Domains
I did some experimentations to check how does the ip address and back links are co-related.
Site A and Site B was created with veryy-similar (but not same) content.
Site A was given 20 back links from site C & D (which also has related content) which was hosted on the same IP adderss as site A.
Site B was given 20 backlinks from site E & F (which also has related content) which was hosted on some different IP (and different IP range).
Page ranks of C, D, E and F are same.
Here are my findings:
1. Google passed more PR to site B.
2. Google ranked site B better in search results. (Infact site B is on the first page and site A is nowhere on first 10 pages)
So if you are planning to start a network of sites hosted on the same dedicated server, think again.
